CONSTRUCTION DETAILING OF BUILDING ELEMENTS
Duration : 8 weeks
Submission Requirement : A compilation of Timber construction process, construction drawings and details.
In groups of 8, we were needed to chose a building and acquire their plans and elevations. We were assigned to produce a compilation of construction details, processes and drawings according to the chosen house from a developer to demonstrate and develop our understanding on Timber construction and drawing convention. Then we were then given each a material to change the building into, either timber or concrete. For my group and I, we were given timber.
Throughout this entire assignment, we were required to research how timber were utilized in buildings and understanding as well what layers and what extra materials were needed to ensure the building and its material work. Other than that, we were also required to sketch, analyze and understand the construction process as well, before, during and after the building is done.​​
Reflection​
Through this assignment, I learnt more on how to apply timber specifically in a building and what was required to be done for timber houses to work. I also got to train and practice more technical drawings throughout this assignment as well.

On the other hand, I think teamwork is very important too, because we had to make sure we have consistent drawings even in this situation of pandemic.
