RESEARCH IN ASIAN ARCHITECTURE (RESEARCH POSTER)
Duration : 10 weeks
Submission Requirement : 1 A1 size board, 10 minutes video presentation

In this assignment, we are to form a group of 6-7. The main objective is to identify the issues and to expand the scope of study based on the observations from assignment 1. The scope of study that my group focuses on is the architectural & place identity, title of the poster is "Restoration of Community As A Strategy For Loss Of Place Identity Due to Gentrification In Petaling Street".

The submission requirement is to submit an A1 size poster in digital format. The poster should consist of at least 5 research questions related to the research title, with answers from reliable sources (APA & in-text citations). The organisation of information and graphics are significant too. Also, we are to provide a minimum of 10 minutes pre-recorded presentation discussing about the components of the poster.
Reflection
In this assignment, I've learn that communication is a very significant element in every group project, especially in this situation of pandemic. Even thought me and one of the member created 2 social media platforms for both messaging and verbal discussions, some of the members refused to speak up more than they expected, making the existence of technology to be pointless.
The second knowledge I've picked up was the process of making a good research poster. Before the start of the assignment, I had no clue of what and how a proper research poster looks like, including its production. This is a very good exercise to me as a 1st year student, and I believe I will produce a better research poster if I am able to encounter another opportunity.

Communities are part of a place identity. I think this assignment had raised my awareness towards the problems that could be brought by the gentrification, not just in Petaling Street, but Malaysia, as it is a "developing country".
I think there were many improvements can be made. One thing was the diversity of the research questions. In my opinion, some of the research questions seems to be repeated in a way where some of the answers could be placed in other questions. Overall, I'm glad that we were able to complete this assignment on time and the fact that this a very beneficial experience for me.
