READING THE CONTEXTS OF TRADITIONAL STREET

Submission Requirement : 1 A4 Sketch Journal
In this assignment, we are provided with 11 traditional street, and we are required to select one and conduct a virtual site visit using relevant online tools or technology (due to the situation of lockdowns). Based on the selection of streets, we are to identify the existing tangible & non tangible elements in the street. I've chosen Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur as my site.
The submission requirement is to submit an A4 sketch journal. The journal should consist 8 pages of sketches, including a 300 words of summary to discuss more about the context of the site. For the content of the journal, we are encourage to present the relationship between architecture and other significant elements while implying effective visual communications & media.
Reflection
In this assignment, I've studied and sketched out the shophouses, culture, trades, etc, while understanding the significant characteristics. Through this, I've learn the importance of preserving the traditional elements and authenticity of a street and culture.
Overall, I think it was a very interesting because I had an opportunity to discover more in this project.
