The submission requirement is to submit an A3 infographic board in digital format. The infographic should consist the following contents: design thinking of the architectural production/development, building typology, spatial concept, structures, materials & constructions, the accuracy of the content should be proven by providing the source of the references. On the other hand, clear organisation of information and graphic information are significant too.
Reflection
In this assignment, I've learn the importance of having a good graphic visuals when there's an overwhelming amount of information. This is because infographics are used as a powerful tool to allow people to easily digest information through the use of visual data, charts, and statistics. With the proper use of colour, proportion, and negative space, information can be transformed into memorable, attention-grabbing and even persuasive graphics.
I am also amazed by the development of Chinese Vernacular Architecture & the consideration they made from the internal to external factors of their buildings. From what I've learnt from my research was the Chinese always had a very strong design concept and they were able to construct beautiful buildings with a very complex structural system. On the other hand, the materials that they had used were also very beautiful in terms of its colour.
I think there were many improvements can be made. Firstly, I felt annoyed where I could not put more information due to the size of the board. Secondly, I think the quality of my board is very poor where I could have a better graphic layout. Overall, I'm not very happy with this project, due to the poor arrangement of the information in this infographic.
