DESIGNING WITH ARCHITECTURAL PRINCIPLES, MATERIALITY, CONTEXT & USER

Duration :  6 weeks

Submission Requirement :  Online Presentation & Presentation Slides, Model (1:100), 3 A1 Presentation Boards

In this final project, we were given a site in Subang Ria Recreational Park, one of the oldest & largest park in Subang, Malaysia. The main task is to design a tropical solitary haven aligning with the situation COVID-19 pandemic. The designed structure should also correspond to the site condition & it is important to illustrate an understanding of how our architecture is conceptualized and transformed into reality.

In short, the design of the structure should demonstrate the our design intentions through the application of architectural principles, materiality and constructability in creating a memorable spatial experience for the user(s).

Reflection

I have to say I had really learned a lot of things through this assignment & I would really like to show gratitude towards my tutor, Ms. Indrani Vanniasingam. The name of this structure is called "The Forgotten Time", simply means how urbanisation had brought us far away from the nature and now is the time where we are able to bring it back.

Overall, I I really enjoyed working on this project and learning more about site studies, narratives and being able to explore the field of deconstructive architecture & architects in it, which really broaden my vision in this world of architecture.
